Horror in the Library is a 19th Century Victorian horror themed tile-based competitive card collecting game for 2 to 4 players (can be expanded to 6).

Horror in the Library is a game of strategy, betrayal, and collecting. Find secret pages within the library of the mad professor to escape the nameless horrors that lie within!

Horror in the Library was a sell out success again at the UK Games Expo in 2022.

We are now working on our 2023 crowdfunding campaign with KICKSTARTER which we expect to launch at the UK Games Expo. We will be in Hall 2 Stand 211.

A new edition of Horror in the Library will be available for selected reviewers and customers at the UK Games Expo 2023.

This updated edition has new components, new blessings and curses and a new look box. This will form the basis of the final stnadard production model. Take it for a jolly good spin at the show. Hall 2 Stand 2-211.

Horror in the Library Tabletopia Virtual Game Edition

Tabletopia Launches Horror in the Library Virtual Edition

I am pleased to announce that we have partnered with Tabletopia to create the first virtual edition of Horror in the Library.

Tabletopia has converted our board game into an online multiplayer game for up to 4 players.

This can be played for free via the Tabletopia website, and via their Games app that is available for free on the Apple App Store, Google Play store and Steam. But you can always play in the web browser, which is cross platform compatible.

We hope you find this a fun way to play with your friends online.

This also heralds our new Kickstarter campaign for the Fourth Edition of Horror in the Library, which will launch in June 2023.

Unlike the standard board game, players will be able to compete in a virtual environment where everything has been converted into 3-D models, This version of Horror In The Library includes some changes in gameplay compared to how it is usually played, although the rules and game mechanics are the same. With the majority of roleplaying and D&D games available to play online, Tabletopia have made Horror In The Library accessible for everyone, even if you’re in a different part of the world. Tabletopia is an online sandbox arena where you can play virtual board games for free, and you can play with other people too. Tabletopia is compatible with Windows and Mac OS platforms, Steam, App Store and Google Play. Not only can you play from the thousands of games Tabletopia has to offer but there’s an editor feature that enables you to bring your board game into the virtual world, without the need for any skills in programming.

Use specialised tools to build, play-test, demonstrate, and promote your game with Tabletopia’s ready game setups, custom camera controls, shuffling and dealing of cards, tracking player turns and game phases, interactive zones with predefined automatic actions.

Pricing varies depending on if you are a board gamer or a designer. Tabletopia offer two choices:

  1. Players can play games for free if they choose the bronze option, however silver and gold requires players to pay $4.99 (silver) and $9.99 (gold) per month and both of these options allow you to play premium games, but only gold only includes players who can add guests into premium games. For simultaneous game sessions bronze level gives plays two, sliver six and gold ten.
  2. Designers have slightly different options compared to players. This includes three levels – basic, which is free, $9.99 for advanced and $19.99 for pro. Depending on the subscription designers will be able to create a number of games – basic level gives you only one, advanced five and pro ten, same thing applies to game set ups and play zones. Storage includes: 200MB (basic). 100 (advanced) and 5000 (pro). Priority moderation, sounds and 3-D objects features are all available for pro, priority moderation and sounds limited for advanced and none of the above are accessible for basic.
